The strong sense of presence in a virtual world like Second Life® makes distance irrelevant and offers the possibility of creating a community of scholars, even among those who are far apart. The launch ceremony was held on July 1, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. The Campus Career Portal initiative is a project of ROZEE.PK, Pakistan’s largest job portal (www.rozee.pk). The initiative has received funding from the National ICT R&D Fund, Ministry of Information Technology.
