Debt for College is Dumb

www.debtshepherd.com If you’re thinking about financing your college education, think twice. Look at a cheaper alternative like online accredited universities. The cost of an average private university in The US is about $27000 per year. Back in the early 70′s it was about $3000 per year. That’s an 800% increase! The government is making it easier to borrow money to go to school. Do you really want to have a 4 year degree and be over $100000 in debt before you’re 25 years old? That’s not a smart personal finance plan. It would take you many years to become debt free and you’re just getting started. Education is a product. Services rendered, money paid. Look at your options before you dive into student loan debt. And by the way, you can’t include student loans in a bankruptcy. To Your Financial Freedom, Greg Whitaker http

Get A College Education At An Online University

Are you a working professional who would like to pursue a degree but don’t have enough time to devote to attending classes? Are you a person who would like to pursue higher education but you do not have the funds required for the courses? Then an online degree from a recognized university is the right choice for you. There are many universities all around the world who offer online degrees to individuals in various fields such as management, architectural courses, hospitality, health, medicine, transcription etc. These colleges provide the courses to students in addition to the classroom courses that they offer. However there are many universities that carry on business solely through online courses or distance education courses.

The major advantage of pursuing an online university course is that it proves to be a cheaper option in comparison to courses that are offered in the classroom. Moreover the student can pursue the course of a university that is situated at the other side of the globe. The student can complete the course and appear for exams from the comforts of his home. The course is completed by the student in the form of online tutorials, online lectures, performance support systems and much more. Also, in many cases video conferencing is possible where professors give lectures online in a classroom. Topics can be discussed with the professors in real time and queries solved.

Online degree courses prove to be beneficial to the students as they provide more knowledge to the students and also give the students a degree to add to their resume. Online degree courses from reputable institutions are said to increase the career and job prospects of the students pursuing the courses. Also study material can be sent to the student’s home in the form of interactive CDRoms and ebooks. Online degree courses can also be conducted in a Wide Area Network today known as WAN. Students in a city are required to attend the lectures conducted thorough video conferencing using collaborative and classroom management software. Thus, e-learning proves to be effective for the student as the student can carry all his material around wherever he wants on his PDA or his laptop.

Despite all the pros that I have discussed above for getting an online degree, it certainly has its cons. People argue that the presence of a physical classroom where the teacher and the students interact with each other is removed. Also online degree courses assume less importance in comparison to full time university degrees. Student’s queries are not solved in a short time as the presence of the teacher is missing. However, as mentioned before, online lectures are made possible through video conferencing where the students can indeed interact with their professors. The advanced use of technology has made online degrees possible.

In spite of the cons, online degrees are being pursued by thousands of students all over the world due to lower costs and flexibility in the timings of the lectures and examinations. Online discussion boards are also set up for students and professors where the students can get their queries solved and also discuss a variety of topics relevant to the degree.

In summary, we see that an online degree reduces a distance of 1000 miles or more between a student and the university to just 5 minutes with the help of advanced technology and the internet. It saves costs by potentially thousands of dollars. It saves on your time of traveling to a university and attending classes and also provides you flexible timings to pursue your studies. It provides a workable schedule to further your education which normally would be impossible. Obviously the increasing popularity of online degree courses admissions all around the world are enough proof that the pros far outweigh the cons. Are you missing out?

do i need an i-20 to apply to online universities?

Hi! Im an international student and Im planning on transferring universities because the one I enrolled in was not accredited. The problem is if I cancel my enrollment, my i-20 (and student visa) would be revoked. Do online universities require I-20s also? I would prefer to stay here in california while pursuing my masters program from an online university and if they do require an i-20, I can easily apply for a new one. Thanks in advance!

5 Reasons an Accredited Online Program is Your Best Option

Today accredited online programs are very popular among students and they also are beneficial anyone who opts for them. These programs have a lot of benefits and the following are the 5 main reasons why an accredited online program is the best option for a person who wishes to enroll for such a program:

1. Ideal for Working Adults: An accredited online program is the best option for any working adult who does not have the time and the energy to attend classroom sessions and interactions. Very often there are many people who join jobs straight after college and these online courses provide the opportunity for them to earn higher degrees from accredited universities without leaving their jobs.

2. Flexibility Of Learning: One can be flexible and learn the basics of an accredited online program from the comforts of one’s home. One can effectively divide one’s time between family and work. In case of attending regular traditional classrooms one may need to sacrifice on either due to being hard pressed for time. With the help of accredited online programs one can allocate time to one’s studies efficiently.

3. Self Motivation: Online accredited courses allow one to study at one’s own pace and hence one can smoothly plan a learning schedule. This enables one to effectively motivate and push oneself through the entire program. One can also focus on any domestic responsibilities and thus can divide one’s time and energy between both. Online programs are very good for self motivation if a person has a number of family and domestic responsibilities.

4. Communication: Accredited online programs have both audio and visual classroom sessions that make learning a more enjoyable experience. The traditional classroom session may not be conducive to those who may finds lectures too boring to listen. Communication via audio and video can be refreshing to those who are not effective listeners in the traditional classroom set up. These tools can be accessed anytime and hence the student can focus better as his concentration levels will be high.

5. Face To Face Interaction: There are many who may think that face to face interaction may not be possible in an accredited online program. The fact is that this can be done very effectively as there are chat forums as well as face to face interaction tools that the student can take recourse to. If the student faces any problem he has the option to interact with the teacher online and clarify his doubts. There also are video conferencing facilities that are a very enriching and enjoyable learning experience to the student. Moreover, the student gets used to the key communication channel that is in the text format.

For the above it is evident that these are the prime reasons why one should opt for accredited online programs. One should make the necessary checks for the best online program that is best suited for him. These programs are recognized and greatly beneficial to both students and working professionals who want to upgrade themselves with higher degrees with ease and in comfort too.

Do You Have the Discipline to Complete an Online Education Course?

Online education is the means by which a specific education system is delivered. Physical addresses and locations are part of the past as electronic techniques rush in to gain leverage in education. More and more universities that are popular and well known are adding an online presence to accommodate those who are not geographically able to attend the school. Separate from those existing schools, there are a number of online education centers that have an exclusive online presence.

Any person with a desire to learn and an internet connection can take advantage of online education. There are not the restrictions placed on online education as are placed on conventional means. Keeping a full time day job is not an obstacle when choosing this course of action as most programs also allow the user to complete the work at his or her own speed within a set time specification outlined by the course. Educational materials and resources are literally unending online and puts most traditional libraries to shame. Gaining online education provides a nice alternative to physically leaving home to accomplish education goals. However, there are a few disadvantages that the potential student should be aware of.

To be successful with online education the student has to have the ability to be well disciplined. The workload has to be completed on the student’s own merit and this can promote problems from the start. Online education specifically bases the principles on the student doing work alone without the direct supervision of an instructor. There is no governing body to demand assignment checks or to answer any questions that may arise throughout the course.

This doesn’t mean that there are no support resources when taking an online education course. There are many available to students and most higher end education facilities assign tutors and instructors at the student’s disposal. Most education centers offer the same services offline as they now offer online. This includes a host of counseling options and resources for any potential problems the student might have.

Signing up for online education is clearly pioneering a path for further education to be conducted online. Email, chat programs as well as forums are just a few of the tools that are utilized with online learning. Everything is now at the click of a mouse and can pave the way for a brilliant career in any field.

When choosing an online education program it is wise to put some time and effort into the research of the organization. Many programs are not recognized world wide and that often plays a pivotal role in shaping a student’s career. Be sure to select an education program that is going to supply proof of accreditation and that offers online assistance.
