what is your opinion on online education?
please give me your opinion on online education, what do you think about getting a degree online?, if we are almost alone when we study our degrees? what makes online different??, give me your opinion please.

online education is great if you have the money for it….. i know that to get your GED online it can cost anywhere between 190-300 dollars. other than that i guess that it is great. the only difference that i see is that you are online and not in a class i don’t think that just because you went to a college rather than did it online makes any difference in the diploma you get.
I think online education is a good thing. I didn’t graduate high school, but I made up the credits I had left and got my diploma. I also took a GED test and that also made up some of my credits. Do some research into these programs. In this day and age, there are a lot of phonies out there who are just trying to scam you for your money.
its a convenient way to study. and lacks the advantages of Group discussion and exchange of ideas.
Some online school’s make you work for the papers some do not.
I attended a University that offfered many of their classes online. However I found when I got to the 300 and 400 level classes I needed a teacher in front of me for some subjects like programming and Calc. English I could do online for any level. Some others where more fun in a classroom. However work conflicts always made online an option.
If you do online and see students getting away with unethical actions you know the University is not up to snuff. Otherwise you get out of it what you put in it.
What makes it different is: for those of us with work and a family it allows us to flex our time to try to improve ourselfs.
If there is no brick and mortar school, then for the most part it is bad.
If there is no brick and mortar school and no summer residency, then the reputation is just plain terrible (University of Phoenix, do you hear me?).
Universities with great reputations tend to be not-for-profit, which means that the focus *should* be on the education of the students over the bottom line. If you are truly looking at online degrees, then try to find an online program from an accredited University… that actually has a campus somewhere. A number of traditional academic powerhouse schools are now offering distance learning and online degrees. If you *must* do an online degree, then this is the way to go.
You will be alone when you study for your degree… that’s a shame, because the university traditionally provided a forum for the exchange of ideas… I just don’t think you can communicate the same way in a chat room as you do face – to – face.
